Passive Audience :  This is the thought that audiences passively take in information from the media and these messages have the same effect on everyone. By this, we mean that the audience take the message from the media they consume. Active Audience:   This is the more present-time idea that the audience actively take role with and make choices regarding the media they consume. By this, we mean that the audience conduct to the media in multiple ways and sometimes take the unplanned message from the media they consume. Hypodermic Needle Theory:  This is the intimation that audiences are always passive and then take the message from the producer as if it was injected into their minds. Prison break: Three camera shots used: In prison break at 0:20 one of the camera shot used is a medium shot.Two of the actors (Lincoln and Benjamin) and the setting is in frame.This shows they were having a conversation as only the waist to the head is visible. The second camera shot used is an over the shoulder shot at (1:36).We can see this as we are looking from behind Michael Scofeild and focusing on the the subject which is Lincoln. The close-up shot used at 0:49 is focusing on Sara and showing us her emotion which is unhappy and tearful.We can also tell she is unhappy as the things she is telling her son is not joyful or happy. The medium shot angle allows a point-of-view from another member of the policemen. This allows the consumer to see the reactions of the policemen as they're looking for the criminal. It also gives us an idea of the background which is a metro train station. This gives the consumer an idea of how busy the location is and how difficult is will be to catch the criminal as there is many people in the metro train station. This long shot of a damaged car shows the audience the necessity of the chase, this is because cars often connote speed and a chase and the fact that Tom Cruise's character is running past the car suggests that he is going to be involved in a chase too. This makes the audience feel nervous and anxious since they are so eager to find out what happens to Tom Cruise's character. ESTABLISHING SHOT: We decided to the establishing shot to introduce the area. This helps the audience visualise where the scenes are going to be located which in this scenario is the school. This long shot is taken to to show us that the victim is reading her book also a high angled camera shot to show how weak and small the victim is. This next picture is an over the shoulder view as the bully is trying to sneak up on their potential next victim. Normally this shot is used in a conversation between two people, however we chose this shot as it has a sense of a tense and strange atmosphere. Also there is a high angle shot going down to a low angle as a sense of dominance of two people.
