Audience: Effects theory
Passive Audience : This is the thought that audiences passively take in information from the media and these messages have the same effect on everyone. By this, we mean that the audience take the message from the media they consume. Active Audience: This is the more present-time idea that the audience actively take role with and make choices regarding the media they consume. By this, we mean that the audience conduct to the media in multiple ways and sometimes take the unplanned message from the media they consume. Hypodermic Needle Theory: This is the intimation that audiences are always passive and then take the message from the producer as if it was injected into their minds. This assumes no individual difference in audience members.
