LR to essay

1) Copy and paste your feedback from the email in  full - WWW, EBI and LR. WWW: This is well structured and has a clear argument with excellent use of terminology. EBI: You need to use more clear examples of what you are claiming. 2) What was the word count for your essay? 596 3) What was your strongest paragraph? Why do you think it was better than others? My strongest paragraph was the introduction to media industry and how it gives audience more power. I think i did well in this paragraph because i used media terminology. 4) What was your weakest paragraph? Why do you think it wasn't as good as others? My weakest paragraph was the music, film and tv industry because I didn't add media terminology in the tv industry paragraph and for the music industry paragraph i talked about social media. LR:   One reason why I strongly agree with this statement is because of the media industry. Industries are the...

Industries: Film Industry CSP introduction

Film industry introduction: blog tasks Analyse the  film poster  for  either  Doctor Strange  OR  I, Daniel Blake. Write about: The denotation and connotation in the film poster The use of mise-en-scene in the poster (remember CLAMPS) Any other convention or aspect on the poster that attracts an audience Denotation: In this film poster there is graffiti written on the wall ' I, Daniel Blake' which indicates its the title of the movie. The man ( Daniel Blake ) Has his fist up in the air and is wearing dirty clothes with a negative facial expression. Connotation: This film could have a political message. The Man's clothes are dirty because he could be poor or homeless and he is putting up his fist to represent liberty and freedom.  The graffiti sprayed on the wall looks like it was written by the man, due to the writing being in first person and the creativeness. As we know graffiti to be illegal, him writing that on th...

Industry and audience power essay

“The internet has given audiences much more power than ever before.” To what extent do you agree with this statement? I strongly agree with this statement because the audience has free will and the power to choose which movies to give better rantings to, which artists to support and make them become famous and immediately get news and share it on social media. One reason why I strongly agree with this statement is because of the media industry. Industries are the producers, the companies that produce (make) and distribute the media product this leads to industries having a strong interest in who their target audience is so that they can best appeal to them.  Due to most people self- promoting themselves nowadays for the public to see by uploading a video of themselves onto YouTube or any other social media sites and if enjoyed by the public eye, many  supporters will help boost their status by sharing their video. However before the internet, people had to be signed ...

Ownership and control: blog task

1) Why did Facebook buy Instagram for $1bn in 2012? Facebook bought Instagram because of  rivalry and because Facebook wasn't doing so well. It proved that Facebook could build multiple products at the same time, and also sent a message to other entrepreneurs that Facebook was the best place in Silicon Valley to drive massive growth. 2) What are the benefits for media companies of vertical integration? They would have complete ownership meaning more profits. 3) What are the benefits for media companies of horizontal integration? They'd widen their audience and find other ways to make money. 4) What is a subsidiary? Another way of saying smaller companies. 5) Give three examples of media companies that have used synergy to maximise the profit from a brand (there is one above to help you). Walt Disney, Warner Brothers and Universal Studios. 6) Read this  BBC article on Disney buying 21st Century Fox . List 10...
