1) How do audiences generally watch music videos these days? In the modern day, audiences can watch music videos on platforms such as YouTube which is free to access.  2) What opportunities has the growth of digital technology and YouTube created for new music artists? It has made it easier for them to grab audiences attention and making themselves famous by uploading videos of them singing. However, with artists that are already in the music industry it could be argued that the growth of technology has dramatically led to a decrease in how much those artists get paid for their songs as most of the time, only audiences are benefited.  3) What is P2P and why did it cause huge problems for the music industry? P2P is where fans distribute artist's music amongst themselves illegally. It has caused huge problems for the music industry as audiences were getting music for free meaning artists weren't getting paid whilst their work was out there for everyone to listen to. 

One Direction - History: Blog tasks

Industry 1) How were One Direction formed and how is this reflected in the music video for History? They were formed on X Factor as individual acts however Simon Cowell decided to join them together as one boy band. This helped form the music video as it highlights the "history" of One Direction from the beginning of their auditions. 2) What is vertical integration? 1) What are the key conventions of music video? Music videos typically feature:fast paced editing, different camerawork, actors, performance elements. Can also feature visual effects as well as intertextuality   Music videos are designed as a promotional device to sell artists music and help the audience want to go to their concerts. 2) What is intertextuality?
