December PPE Paper 2: Learner Response

1) Type up your feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential). The grade boundaries are here if you are wondering how close you are to the next grade up.
WWW:
-Very solid understanding of the social, historical and cultural; contexts of CSP's

EBI:
-Read the question carefully and highlight key words that the question is asking you to analyse. Then apply media theories / terminology in your analysis.

2) On a scale of 1-10 (1 = low, 10 = high), how much revision and preparation did you do for the December PPEs?
3

3) Use the mark scheme for this assessment to identify three points you could have made in any of the questions in Section A (Television). Look for the indicative content in the mark scheme - these are the suggested answers from AQA.
Narrative is driven by conflict. The brief first shot showing April
being attacked by the alien king grabs the audience’s attention by
establishing a conflict between two opposing sides suggesting that
a disruption to narrative equilibrium has taken place.

Modern social and cultural contexts place a high premium on diversity so any representation of teenagers which excluded diversity in (for example) ethnicity, social class, gender, religion, ability/disability or sexual preference would be more shocking to today’s audience than those of the 1960s.

4) There are three 20-mark essay questions in Media Paper 2. What will you do to improve your performance in the 20-mark essays in the March PPEs?
Next time, for the 20 markers I will make sure I stay focused on the question, always link it back so i can get my point through, give more evidence, and talk about another CSP in the synoptic question.

5) Question 5 is a synoptic question that requires you to refer to other CSPs. What other CSPs could you have used for this Question 5 on Zoella and celebrity?
I could have mentioned NHS Represent, Galaxy and Kim Kardashian Hollywood, but talked more about Lara croft.
