1) Who is Audrey Hepburn?
Audrey Hepburn was an actress in the 1950's and 1960's who starred in a lot of classic films (e.g: Breakfast At Tiffany's).

2) Why did Galaxy select Audrey Hepburn for this advert? 
She was selected in this Galaxy advert because was starring in a movie called Roman Holiday, which is similar to the Galaxy advert. In the 1950's Roman Holiday was a huge hit back then which would interest and engage the audience. 

3) What are the connotations of Audrey Hepburn and celebrity in this advert?
They wanted to recreate a roman holiday because of the nostalgia and intertextuality that comes with it.

4) Why is the advert set in the 1950s? What audience pleasure does this provide?
The simple 1950's provides nostalgia for the audience, reminding them of what it was like to fall in love at first sight.


5) What is intertextuality?
It is when a show or movie references something from somewhere else. e.g Itchy and Scratchy- Tom and Jerry.

6) What Audrey Hepburn film is suggested in this advert and how is this effect created (e.g. mise-en-scene - CLAMPS: costume, lighting, actors, make-up, props, setting)?
The film suggested is Roman Holiday as there is a famous scene in which Gregory Peck lets Princess Anne drive him around on a moped also in this instance, the moped is a car. The outfit she is wearing is somewhat similar to what she wears in the movie, e.g long flowing skirt, short sleeved blouse, ascot on her neck.

The hero: Man in the car that takes Aubrey
Heroine: Aubrey Hepburn
The donor: Bus Driver


8) How does the advert's narrative (story) follow Todorov's theory of equilibrium?
The disequilibrium was at the start when the bus was delayed by fallen fruits. The equilibrium was restored when Audrey accepted a car ride from a supposedly handsome stranger.

9) What representations of gender can you find in this advert?
The gender representation in this advert is the male character is showing power and being a gentlemen because he is being kind towards a female character by showing compassion. The representation of the female character in this advert is represented that Audrey Hepburn is shown as an empowered women. 

10) Are stereotypes reinforced or subverted in the Galaxy advert? Give examples.
Generally, stereotypes of women are subverted in this advert, since Audrey Hepburn's character is in a position of power, and acts boldly, not timidly. She does not allow the man to dictate her actions, instead choosing to take complete control of the situation and telling him what to do.
