WWW- Tatler analysis is really strong. You are starting to show understanding by using words like ‘consumers’ and ‘subverted’ and ‘taglines’ accurately. Good on social contexts, shows a mature understanding of this hard concept.

EBI- Where you identify conventions, you need more specific textual detail from the covers e.g. when you are talking about cover lines, please discuss more than one. Excellent written English and understanding of media terms but now you need to apply more of these terms in your own work. For the Representation part, think CAGE (class, age, gender, ethnicity)

LR- Please pick 2 of the extension tasks

Grade 8/9 extension tasks

1) How does the front cover engage audiences with possible narratives? Look for stories, cliffhangers, dramatic cover lines etc.

The front cover engages the audience because of the way they put the cover lines in bold and use quick and snappy sentences for example "Oops, all my clothes fell off" Which is fine because all you need are the new accessories'. This introduces the reader to one of the many possible narratives as the issue wants you to read on to find out more, thus creating a cliffhanger.  In addition, the position that the character/model on the front of the magazine is a bold and daring stance. This could also suggest another narrative as she may be daring the reader to read on.

2) What does the costume and make-up in the central image suggest about the character featured on the front cover of the April 2017 edition of Tatler?
It shows that the character likes fashion and make up. Also it looks very expensive what she is wearing.
