First Blog Task

1) Which part of the course are you looking forward to most?
I am looking forward to being taught how to make a presentable magazine and music video.

2) What knowledge and skills do you hope to learn in Media?
I already know great editing skills but I wish to learn more in Media.

3) What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media?
I hope to achieve a 6 or a 7 in media studies.

4) What was the last TV programme or film you watched?
The last film I watched was 13 Reasons Why.

5) Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience?
I think 13 Reasons Why appealed to an audience because it has an interesting and dramatic story line which grabs attention and raises awareness about how people who surfer with depression need help before something bad happens like suicide.

6) What technology have you used to access the media in the last 24 hours? (Radio, TV, phone etc.)
In the last 24 hours, I've used my phone to access the media: Snapchat, Whatsapp, Instagram.

7) What device do you use most to access the media?
I mostly use my phone to access the media.

8/9) Watch this clip from acclaimed BBC drama series Doctor Who
Why was the casting of Jodie Whittaker a significant moment in the history of Doctor Who?
I think this was a significant moment in the history of Doctor Who because through out the film industry, there has always been a male protagonist. This goes against general stereotypes so being able to have a female in cast changed peoples mindset.

10) What aspects of this scene do you think an audience might enjoy? List at least three things and explain why the audience would enjoy each aspect.
One aspect of the scene the audience might enjoy is seeing capaldi's iteration of The Doctor Who make one final dramatic speech (as the character is known to do),before bursting into the fiery flames of regeneration and changing into Whittaker's new thirteenth Doctor, making the first time in the show's 50 year run that a female actor has taken on the role.Another aspect is when sparks flew in the Tardis before Whittaker emerged from Capaldi's dying golden glow as this hopefully symbolised the end of overly wordily scripts and a new beginning of exciting escapades. Also One last aspect of the scene is knowing that, it doesn't end negatively as there will be more drama and exciting adventures to come.
